“PASTORAL COUNCIL”

“In the Church there is diversity of ministry but unity of mission.  To the apostles and their successors Christ has entrusted the office of teaching, sanctifying and governing in his name and in his power.  But the laity are made to share in the priestly, prophetic and kingly office of Christ, they have therefore, in the Church and in the world, their own assignment in the mission of the people of God”. One of the ways the laity can participate actively in the life and action of the Church is the Pastoral Council. In response to and in accordance with the guidelines set by the Archdiocese of Mobile, Alabama, St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church unites to form a pastoral consultative council to provide their assistance in fostering pastoral activity.
